Developments in Brickell started when people settled in this region in the early 1800s and was incorporated into the city in 1896. Before Brickell became the major financial district of Miami-Dade County, it was first recognized as the “Millionaire’s Row” of Miami in the 1900s because of the establishment of large, luxurious mansions in Brickel Avenue.
