Key Biscayne’s Humble Beginnings
During the first half of the first half of the 20th century, the northern two-thirds of Key Biscayne Island are utilized to operate as the largest coconut plantation in the whole United States. However, there have been many plans for the island to develop a residential town, it was not until 1947 that the island was opened to large scale residential development.
